With up to 40% off, the Boden Spring sale is always a good chance to pick up some quality bargains on pieces that will still work all the way through the summer and beyond. Here are my picks.
The Jeanne coat (above) is cut in that beautiful collar-less style which Boden has done so well for many seasons now. The classic navy colour is lifted by some pretty detailing. Wear it with polo-necks or scarves on cooler days or as a smarter jacket for the office with a tee underneath. This Breton sweater (yes, another one!) has a lovely rustic quality to it which will work really well for weekends and UK beach holidays, when the cashmere blend will come in handy to keep you chic yet warm.I’m coming off the fence and declaring that (at least until summer), I’m still not sold on the whole backless loafer thing (even though Boden do a very nice version of this too). In the meantime, I’ll stick to my guns and wear sensible slip-ons. These pony-skin, leopard print styles are anything but boring though!Okay, so not a massive bargain (though keep your eye on it!), but I still think this shirt has so much going for it. It has a touch of that amazing blue Miu Miu blouse from last year, which spawned a whole trend in itself, and I love the combination of ruffles, spots and stripes!Silver might not seem like a classic choice for a day bag, but a bit like leopard print, I think it has become an acceptable everyday neutral now, which means this Rowena cross-body not only goes with everything but sort of sashays seamlessly into night, no?Lacy tops have been big news for a while now (especially after that Monsoon version went a bit viral last year). This year every brand has its own take on the trend; some more boho and some smarter than others. This one carefully walks the line between the two with a flattering cut and cotton crochet detailing (love it in red too).As regular readers know, I don’t really do heels apart from low, block heeled boots, but these Catherine mid-heels are probably the only other style I’d entertain. The ankle strap gives extra support while the padded sole gives comfort. These things are important people! And finally, I’ve been a fan of Boden’s Richmond cropped trousers for years now. Whether straight or wide-legged, the fit is always brilliant and the fabrics are beautiful quality; the perfect thickness to be warm without adding bulk. I’d happily add this camel version to my collection because they’d clearly go with everything else. Need I say more?
