HERE COMES THE SUN

Well I didn’t expect us all to be in our summer frocks this early in the year did you?

Last weekend it would have been easy to believe we were in the middle of a summer heatwave in the UK. And on an actual bank holiday of all things. Like many folks we made the most of the weather and packed the three days with barbecues, outdoor trampolining, toasting marshmallows on the firepit, paddling pools, a trip to the park and lunch in a beer garden amongst other things. Well we have to make hay while the sun shines in this country don’t we?

But this weather has definitely encouraged me to get a grip on my summer wardrobe (even though it is still technically spring). I’d unpacked a few things for our holiday in Ibiza earlier on in the month but they were all fairly casual and I realised that I needed a new summer frock. Sometimes only a dress will do.

Outfit details: Dress, Jacket & Bag c/o Superdry / T-shirt: M&S / Trainers: Superga / Sunglasses: Sundried

I like my clothes to be pretty multifunctional and practical these days and this dress from Superdry can work for many eventualities. I wish I’d had it in Ibiza as it’s perfect for relaxed lounging round the pool or a trip to the beach but it also looks really cute and fresh for a spring day in Blighty. I also like the fact you can have your legs sort of out and in at the same time with the flattering front split.

This dress has quite strappy straps which look beautiful if you want to show off a tan but if it’s a bit chilly or you need to wear a bra, I think it looks nice teamed with a t-shirt and the pale denim jacket and box fresh white trainers for a smart/casual look. But it would look lovely with sandals too. Add some statement earrings, red lips and maybe shove my hair up and that would be my evening look sorted. It’s also that sort of dress that rolls up and takes next to no room in your case too so it’s the perfect holiday dress.

Let’s hope that wasn’t basically our summer that’s been and gone already eh?

Thanks so much. I often wear t-shirts under summer dresses to make them a bit more wearable for the good ol’ British climate! xx
