I don’t think I could live without knitwear. Not just in autumn / winter but all year round, it really is a wardrobe staple for me. And this outfit proves that, given half a mind, I can and will wear it practically top to toe! Keep-forever, heritage knits form a crucial back bone to that wardrobe (with one or two cheeky high street additions I’ll admit). Regular readers will know how long I’ve admired British designer Genevieve Sweeney and her premium knitwear range, so I’m thrilled to bring you a giveaway from her today, plus an amazing discount code, and all just in time for Christmas too!

How beautiful is this Rea lambswool sweater? I love simple, classic ‘workhorse’ items that will go with everything but I can’t help looking for a slightly quirky detail or cut that sets a piece apart from the everyday. That’s what immediately drew me to this sweater from Genevieve Sweeney. I love the side splits that make it a really useful layering piece especially during winter months but come spring/summer, I reckon this would look lovely with jeans or cropped trousers and just a glimpse of skin on show? But back to the present and its current climate.

I wore this outfit recently when Grieg and I had managed to grab a day to do some Christmas shopping and have some lunch together so I wanted to be comfy, cosy but you know, a bit special. On the day we took these photos it was unseasonably mild and I didn’t want to bundle myself up in a thick winter coat while going in and out of shops.

So it was good to go without a coat and I was perfectly warm, even my feet, thanks to a pair of Genevieve’s glittery socks which were also personalised (so nice!). As you know, I love a bit of geek chic so the current trend for sparkly socks is right up my street and I’d even wear with them with heels for a night out (comfort and style!). Check out the full range of socks, there are some amazing metallic striped versions and they make great gifts, especially initialised!

Thanks Natasha. I love this little street in Harrogate – it’s just down by the Pump rooms and the Valley Gardens if you ever visit 😉 xx
