Great Plains Autumn Winter fashion

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHave you thought about topping up your wardrobe with any new autumn/winter fashion buys yet? It’s tricky I know, when some days (like this weekend) have been quite warm and sunny. Consequently, I’m still plugging for crisp, cotton shirts, lighterweight trousers and no socks (while I can). And this little ensemble from Great Plains sums up what I love about this brand; classic staples and interesting prints that work around the clock. These trousers would go from office to night out easily and still look great with a chunky knit and trainers at the weekend.Great-Plains-lilac-cocoon-coat

But I think what we really need to talk about here is the coat. More importantly, have you got the coat yet? The one you want to invest in for the season, the one that will see you right through winter (and still feel fresh come next spring ideally). Well, might I suggest this lovely lilac number for consideration? First of all, lilac – brighter than grey but more wearable than pink – is a mightily underestimated colour. I genuinely think it suits every skin/hair colouring and looks really good with all those winter neutrals we’re grabbing from our wardrobes right now. And that cocoon shape is still the sartorial equivalent of a duvet-cum-hug as far as I’m concerned!

I’ve teamed up with Great Plains to offer one of my readers the Kitty cocoon coat (in a choice of lilac or mustard if you prefer), so you’ll be all set for winter. Just fill in the details below. This giveaway is open to UK and international readers.

Thats a great coat and such a beautiful colour on you. Since I let my natural grey hair grow in I’ve had to change the colours I wear, that lilac is spot on. I love their boots too – the biker boots and the long knees up boots could both find a place in my wardrobe

Um… Well, I’m not sure. Obviously, I’m not entering this for myself (!) – I saw the coat and thought of a friend who would love it. Anyway, having a quick looksie at the website, I think she’d also like the Biker Leather Boots. She has a thing about boots (well, footwear in general!) and they’re very much her style.

I spent the weekend watching a glut of 60’s films where the main character wore crisp white shirts, trousers and brogues, so I’m loving this look!

The coat does look super cosy – and in such a pretty colour!

I’d go for the Banging Boucle wool cardigan – great name, and a great transitional piece. I’d get loads of wear from it, ideal for layering. And my part of the office is freezing so think I could style it up to make it a bit more formal.

Oh my gosh! However did you know? I’ve been searching all over for a new winter coat and then you post this! I am definitely going to enter this competition and keep everything crossed because this coat is beeaauutiful!!
