I’d love to say ‘sun’s out, guns out’ but let’s just go with ‘warm weather, wrists out’ shall we? I’m quite minimal when it comes to jewellery these days but I do wear more during the summer months and these pieces from Thomas Sabo strike just the right balance.
First of all, I should just give credit to the white trousers I’m wearing in this post. They have been the surprise hit of my summer wardrobe since I dragged them out of storage recently. They shouldn’t really work as white trousers are notoriously impractical but I’ve worn these for lunch dates, school runs and even took them away with me for a week by the coast. Each time, they’ve felt like such a refreshing change to jeans – comfy, cool and lightweight – and miraculously remained spill-free. So I urge you all to get a pair!
I also dug out my favourite espadrilles and beach bag, heartened by the fact that both tassels and pom-poms seem to be still going strong this summer. Again, both have done me proud as a holiday garb but have also stayed with me as I’ve swung back into the old routine of school runs and work meetings this week (well, during the sunny spells anyway). I’ve decided these babies deserve more than just their annual week in the sun and will be using them as long as I can.
The same goes for these pretty bracelets from Thomas Sabo. They recently got in touch to see if I’d like to pick something from their range. There are such a lot of amazing pieces to choose from, there’s something to suit every style, seriously. I particularly zoned in on their silver bracelets for women as I tend to wear more jewellery in summer when my wrists aren’t wrapped up in a million layers! That said, these pieces work nicely for this time of year but don’t scream summer so much that I’d feel inclined to pack them away come winter. I have quite small wrists too and I liked the way these pieces were delicate but still made a statement. They’re not too much but just enough, don’t you think?
The Love Bridge bracelets come in a range of different styles and the sterling silver bar can be engraved free of charge, so I had the date of our wedding anniversary since we’d recently celebrated it. But you could have any message or dedication and I think engravable jewellery makes such a nice gift for others too. On my other wrist I’m wearing the Tennis bracelet in black, also from the sterling silver Glam & Soul range. I think the name sums up this collection quite well actually as there are some simple, chic pieces and others that are a bit more boho and ethnic but they all complement each other well and there are necklaces to match the bracelets as well. Most of all I love the versatility; many pieces would look the part at a summer festival but still work for the office come Monday morning.
What’s your summer style when it comes to jewellery? Do you keep it simple or have fun?
