A few weeks ago I was invited along to a blogger event by Canopy & Stars; the holiday company that specialises in unique and quirky glamping experiences (think yurts, tree houses, wood cabins, shepherd’s huts and gypsy caravans!). We met up at Harptree Court in Somerset, which is the location of three of its best properties so it was a great way for us all to see what C&S do best. If you fancy taking a break somewhere that’s a bit different and a lot special, you might want to bookmark these for future reference. NB: due to size (and style) restrictions, they’re not family-friendly (though plenty of others are) so maybe just birthdays or anniversaries!
Our first tour was around the beautiful house and gardens itself, which has several rooms with en suite where you can stay in complete comfort without worrying about the great outdoors at all (if glamping isn’t your thing). I loved the glamour and period style of these rooms that felt very unspoiled yet still having all the necessary ‘mod cons’.
Then we took a walk in the beautiful grounds and walled gardens. Harptree has played host to many film crews over the years from music videos to the Great British Bake Off. Isn’t it a handsome house!?
Next stop was the three pod yurt, which is furnished with Georgian antiques and a roll top bath so you get this wonderful juxtaposition between the outside and the inside of the property.
And finally we took in the amazing Treehouse by climbing the stairs and crossing the walkway built around a beautiful Laurel, which houses this en suite hotel room in the tree tops! It’s all pretty fabulous in there, but the star of the show for me is the beautiful bath – can you just imagine!?
I’m really excited to be part of the Canopy & Stars collective, so I’m hoping to be able to share a few more stunning properties like these with you over the coming months if you fancy some more inspiration.
Time to get planning next year’s break!?
