Giveaway: Orla Kiely SS15 handbag

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThere’s a long tradition of Orla loving on this blog as some of my readers will know. I never tire of this designer’s prints or the excellent quality of her products. So when the Pod Company (also quite a long-standing partner of this blog) got in touch to ask if I’d like to do another giveaway, this time with a new SS/15 design, I thought why not? After all, I’m sure many of you love these handbags as much as me, am I right?

The Pod Company always has the best selection of Orla Kiely of any shop I know so, as usual, I had a hard time picking my favourite from the new range, but in the end I decided to go for the iconic stem print in this year’s summery colourway. I love the pop of orange against the neutral background and I chose the messenger style because it’s really multifunctional and would work from school run/office to weekend/holiday.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My usual “clothes for me” budget has recently been going on providing some things for my two young nieces, as they’re going to be living with my mum long-term as their parents can’t looks after them any more. So, I loved browsing the kids’ section of and must say I love the Princess towel and the Swimming towel (they haven’t learned to swim yet, which is a huge shame as my brother was a top level competitive swimmer in his youth, so really has no excuse for not having gotten them started on this yet)

But my mum spends a lot of time working in her garden. Especially now she’s retired, but she’s been growing organic fruit and veg, and inviting the local wildlife to her garden for decades. So I also love some of the garden items designed for kids, as this will be the first time my nieces have a garden, and I think these could really help them to bond with my mum and feel like the garden is their spaces as much as it is hers (which is what both my mum and I want them to feel).

From that range, I love the paint-your-own bird house:

The bug collecting box:

And the insect house:

All of these would be great treats for my nieces. They love Princesses, so the Princess towel would be great for bath time. The Swimming towel would help them remember the swimming strokes as they learn them and help them to feel more confident about learning to swim. And the garden items would give them hours of fun, and my mum has the experience to support them in learning about the birds and insects they would interact with when using those items. 🙂
