BUDGET BUY: STRIPED LINEN DRESS

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI’ve been on the hunt for a simple striped summer dress for ages. This one is linen and only £25 from Sainsbury’s Tu.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI’ve been pinning striped skirts and loose dresses for a while now in the hopes that summer will be here soon. The combination of the two just seems right for warmer weekdays and even on holiday by the coast (hopefully later). This cute sleeveless dress from Sainsbury’s Tu is great purely because of its simplicity. It does come with a narrow white belt which cinches in the waist for more of a retro look if you like but I left mine off to create more of a relaxed, shift look that I think suits the linen fabric better. The addition of pockets would have been the only extra I’d have preferred. As it is, it’s just a really sweet dress, perfect for adding accessories and layers (which is good because it’s still not that warm up north yet).OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And look, it makes a pretty nice skirt too.

Very pretty! I bought a similar one in Gap last week for a bargains £9.99! I’m wearing mine with a denim jacket until it warms up a bit. I love wooly jumpers and summer dresses – it’s a bit Famous Five, isn’t it?

Ooh that trounces my bargain find! I always forget to look in Gap. And yes, very Famous Five especially if accompanied with socks, a thermos or some ginger beer! 🙂 xx

Linen is my fav fabric for summers. I can’t get enough of it. Last time I went to India, I got heap load of fine quality of linen.
