So far, I’d say autumn has been pretty kind to us. There has been plenty of bright, crisp sunshine, park days and country walks to keep me satisfied. While at the same time I’ve enjoyed having the excuse for lighting candles, wearing tights, running hot baths and choosing new winter boots and shoes.
Charlie loves a pyjama day when he can snuggle under our duvet and be a bit lazy on a wet weekend. I don’t blame him, I’m the same really. But we’ve still dragged ourselves out and about for fresh air when we can and even managed to grab brunch al fresco one Saturday.
Lights really come into their own once the days grow darker and the nights longer. These new ones from Cable & Cotton are perfect for the kids’ rooms. That said, the great thing about this time of year is the surprisingly sunny afternoons when light just floods a room. I think we’ve definitely been indulging in more cafe stops and sweet treats recently too. Well you need a survival layer at this time of year!
Autumn is also the time for rainy day activities. I loved this little crafting kit for the kids from Toucan Box. Inside was all the bits and pieces to make a little owl puppet – perfect for this time of year and Florence loved it!
And most recently, I thought I’d share a few of my IG snaps from my London trip last week when I took in a few new places I wanted to check out as mentioned in yesterday’s Happy List post. I think I’m drawn to colour even more when it’s nearly winter. And there was plenty of that to be had in HEMA and Drink, Shop, Do.
I’m really looking forward to the next few weeks; pumpkin carving, my birthday, Bonfire night and lots more autumn goodness I hope. If you’d like to follow my adventures on instagram you can do so here. And please feel free to leave a link to your own IG account in the comments section.
