THE HAPPY LIST #118

Where to buy the cheapest peonies, the best places to hug a tree and the new autumn coat I’ve got my eye on.

So, we’re half way through 2016. I almost feel like I should write some kind of half yearly review but frankly the thought exhausts me so I think I’ll just stick with these kind of posts. And if I (or anyone else) would like a bit of a look back at some point, just scroll back through the Happy List archive.

Last week I went down to London to attend an event with Swedish interiors retailer Clas Ohlson (think Ikea but better quality plus DIY and electricals). They have large stores in Leeds and Manchester up north as well as more boutique style shops down south such as Ealing Broadway. It was nice to meet the team as well as one of my good blogger friends Jen, who presented her hot picks from the range, which included this graphic lantern, and this lovely indoor/outdoor plant stand. Check out the website and have a good rootle around!

Discussing the exorbitant price of peonies (first world problems) on instagram and being given a run down from my lovely followers on the best place to buy them: Aldi £3, Morrisons/ Tesco £5, Waitrose £8!!

Little things: a few more stacking rings (Accessorise sale) and personalised pencils (the height of narcissism?) from Etsy.

Packing away all my winter jumpers into storage in an effort to force myself to wear some summery clothes!

A top that feels warm yet summery (perfect for this crazy weather). This one (pictured above) is a cool mix of supersoft jersey and white cotton from Beaumont Organic (and is now in the sale).

Okay so all of the above is technically stuff from the new Boden autumn/winter collection, which I spied at their Christmas in July event. Bar the slight craziness of this concept (some people like to plan ahead y’know), Boden dos are always a visual treat and you see that pale grey boiled wool coat – it’s available this month and it gets chilly up north (just sayin’).

Watching Ab Fab episodes on Netflix ahead of a visit to see the new film. I gorged on the whole of series 1, in true Eddie fashion, one wet Tuesday night. It’s even better than I remember it!

Love this guide, created by Canopy & Stars, to the best places to Hug a Tree. According to a survey, we’re not spending enough time outdoors around trees, so you know what to do people!

This ace DIY tutorial from Victoria: 3 ways with copper spray paint!

My fourth and final video with White Stuff is up; this one is about dressing for a summer event. You can watch it here.

Bye for now.

I know, and we’ve hardly had a proper summer up north. Which is why I feel totally justified in getting a new coat 😉 xx

I love the copper spray paint tutorial, I had never even heard of it before. I would totally buy a new coat right now, we are in the south and it’s been bloody freezing so far this year! xx
