The new Yorkshire Soap Company store in Harrogate is a delicious confection of treats. Prepare for the pink!

With stores in Leeds, York, Hebden Bridge, Halifax, Beverley, Knaresborough and now Harrogate, The Yorkshire Soap Co. is fast becoming a bit of a northern institution. Pitched at just the right market to capture fans of Lush (and their mums) who want something a bit more girlie and decadent, the stores are a feast for the eyes (and other senses).

As with most shops I get just as excited about the interiors and merchandising as much as the product and The Yorkshire Soap Co. stocks its delicious-looking bath and body treats to the rafters. Soapy delicacies are displayed on marble cake stands and in old-fashioned apothecary cabinets alongside faux budgies and foliage as far as the eye can see. Grab a gilded platter (no such thing as basket in here) and fill it up with your favourites or grab a ready made selection gift set. Just make sure you don’t shop on an empty stomach!

The expression “Like a kid in a sweet shop” springs to mind immediately! This is a shopping experience that is pretty in pink and quintessentially British in looks, with a little quirkiness thrown in for good measure (the cute cockatoos!). The soaps and bath truffles are a feast for the eyes!
