A new interiors project is always guaranteed to lift me out of my winter doldrums. As spring approaches and the days begin to lighten and lengthen, I find myself pinning more interiors and finding new inspiration in the home. Having already re-painted our kitchen in a bold, dark blue I’m now turning my attention to our neglected back room.

What, you didn’t realise that your shelves need to be styled up these days too? Well, if you’re that way inclined, they are another surface just crying out for a makeover. And when I gave my kitchen dresser a tidy up and a restyle recently, I was surprised at just how satisfying the end result was.
For some reason, I’m really eager to get my Christmas on this year. I can’t wait to start making the place look merry and bright. We’re getting our tree this weekend and of course we’ll be bringing out our favourite decorations from the loft but I’d like to add to the collection with some new bits and try out one or two different ideas too. As with most things, I’m a firm believer that you don’t have to spend a lot to make things look good so this round up of my favourite festive products and ideas is one that should suit a range of budgets.
While I love a beer garden in summer, the pub really comes into its own for me in Autumn. Cosy fires, cosseting interiors, great food and drink all conspire to give me that warm glow, especially if you’ve earned it with a bracing country walk.
